On Time

Try to be happy in this present moment, and put not off being so to a time to come,- as though that time should be of another make from this which has already come and is ours.
-Thomas Fuller

Here is a piece that I wrote which I thought would be relevant to moments in life that is so wrapped around the very concept of... Time- happy reading!

Time

For so long, I've slept beneath the winter vault.
Our dreams were weaved within the skies long before I've met you in time.
In time, we have held all that we could and draped it into the abyss, and here we lie within the measure of a second.

I wished so hard and long that moments in between our lives that we treasure so much, were like gold dust in our hands, forever pressed into the very premise of our hearts.
So when it has long passed in days, and into years- that beautiful glow, like the strongest candlelight, would overpass the dark crevices that leak though.

Often I press against the glass wall that separates you and I, how much I wish I could clutch you on the other side to where you are, this other life that we're encased.
Would I walk among the greats, I would not fear to feel the groaning trembles of Silence- you my dear, I hold you in the highest.
And you leave me here, these drifts of serene emptiness pauses, the air rushing inside me.

Even if I were the only one left to hold these pillars where we stand, I would fall and fly to all four corners of the earth to bring back all that we ever had.

You execute me with your grace, and I could sink with only just your touch.
The days that unfold into memories of an evening- the Other, it traps and entangles you away from me, would he leave you be if I were to awake?

Your hands fall gently over my eyes... seconds like these, it seems that time was on our side.
The sun has risen, its presence streams through... and if I had the power, I would capture our invention and lock it between our tears- for when rain comes, it would be the only thing that would save me.

My Loves and Inspirations: the July edition

It was a high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, "Always do what you are afraid to do."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi everyone!

It's July right now, so we are right down in the middle of summer.
I must say that right now, in between moments that as much as cameras can capture, none is so powerful as memory of the mind.

One thing I know about life is that you have to be fearless. There are moments when things seem haul you down, and slowly drown you. You feel like the next day would never come, but then something unexpected would unfold right in front of your very hands and you realize that what all those books, those films, and the music that tells the acknowledgement that to feel what we feel, is the cinematic whirl of Life.
Never the one to back down on dreams and inspirations, here are some places and things that I love and would love to share with you.
~
Taking strolls while having laugh-out-loud moments and graceful simplicity with that someone you love.

Exploring ponds... there are some lovely ones around my area, and one in particular that I loved to visit ever since I was a child. It's so enchanting with a large fountain in the middle, with swans and ducks, and a curving path within the woods so it feels as if you're lost in the surrounding nowhere for only if, but a moment.

Reading "Never Let Me Go"... it is honestly one of the most brilliant books that I have ever read, a definite top favorite that is so hauntingly beautiful and poetic. I highly recommend it as its a great book to sit outside under the tree with. I am so beyond happy that it is turning into a film, starring Carey Mulligan and Kiera Knightley! It comes out in October...it seems so far away!

Conversations while walking around at night. There was a moment recently where me and Tim were passing by a playground and then we decided to just lounge inside by the slides, laughing like kids and just talking... out of that moment came that great nostalgic and magical feeling shared between two great best friends, as if we'd known each other all our lives..and in a way, we do.

Lovely houses amidst breathtaking scenery such as this one:

And this one:

Beautiful enchanting landscapes: I seriously would love to visit a place as this and to really breathe in that sense of wonder all around me.

A painting by Caspar David Friedrich, one of my absolute favorite German Romantic landscape artists. I would love to see such a scenery like that one time in my life. Someday.

Strange yet wonderful looking trees.

Grand ceilings that just makes you think it was almost as if it were holding the very jewels from the skies up above.

Packages and mail from all over the world! Let's be penpals, non?

Grand pianos in any setting, whether in a large concert hall, or by a small cabin by the woods tucked away under sheets of patterned curtains.

Flowers, of any form and shape, each is a majestic beauty among others.
Ballet flats! What would I do without them, constantly walking about in the city!

Getting lost in art galleries. I had the opportunity to go to the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) with Tim sometime last week and it was lots of fun, especially seeing the Ruben's piece of "Massacre of the Innocents". What's life without art, and what is art without life?

And that's all for now, ciao!

Music of a Life

Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.- Leon J. Suenes

Hello all!

Here is a written piece that I have written in dedication to my boyfriend Tim, in light of his upcoming birthday- it is simply that, and I hope that all of you readers enjoy it!

Music of a Life

I'll take you to the sea,
By the shores, I shall lay my head against your warm face.
Enthrall me with your silent whispers.
The sky above us is our living canvas.
The stars a thousand elsewheres above us.
Stripped we are, of nothing more than just the glide of your wings, beating above the noise of Imperfection.

You lifted my heart up higher than any of the dreams in Infinity.
Hold me close for Im afraid to spin away
This sphere we fall gracefully under, bursts with the music of a long-forgotten symphony.
Each day, I have never stopped thinking about you, I hold them like petals wrapped so lovingly in my hands.

The music, it bounds us in sinking harmony, it carries me to you, no matter where I stand in this world.
Here's to believing, defining our strength, our landscape.
Here's to the music of our lives... let us then walk in our never-ending field of hope and endurance.
For that is all we need, and all that we can ever want.

"A dream, what else?"

Life is a pure flame,
and we live by an invisible sun within us.
-Sir Thomas Brown

Hello all!

Summer has in fact, arrived on my doorstep, and I am ever graceful for its presence.
There is such a greater heightened notion of sensation, of an awareness more acute than any other time before.
Each day, I am always thankful for what I have, the people surrounding me, things that I see when I set off to explore.
Within this realm, I feel a quiet ease whenever I see morning light entering through the window.

Lately, I've been rising with the sun, and there is something ethereal about seeing the glow of light slowly approaching its full grace- a calm grandeur and noble simplicity that I need to gain more upon the daily ordeals within my life.

Sometimes, it's the small details and the simple things that often can compose a surprising leverage of strength unlike anything seen.

So laugh a bit more, love a bit more, and dream to the fullest extent.

I'll build my world of dreams around you

Everyday contains a never-ending fascination from me. From slow walks to the calm grandeur of early mornings where the sun creates a warmth that no other can penetrate, where even the base of one's spine can lock in some of this immense pleasure.

I spend this weekend doing much appreciated relaxation after a bumpy road of being so busy with the things that come my way in life. Made interesting desserts (which I helped in making chocolate truffles) as well as stepping in to a favorite tea shop in the city called Tao Tea Leaf (934 Yonge St) that is absolutely a tea lover's haven.

The best part of this amazing weekend (with gorgeous weather to complement it) was spending it with the people you love. I felt healed somewhat to be able to absorb with an open heart to be able to share romantic and funny moments with the one you care for most in the world.

I also slipped the chance of reading some Keats... especially his letters to the love of his life, Fanny Brawne. With the rise of Morning, I can feel a trace of his words embracing me, leaving me in a state of utter bliss.

Love is in fact the biggest risk one would ever take in one's life, but like in lightning when it strikes, that beautiful channel of endearing desire and sighs of a beautiful release, can be felt once in a lifetime, and we are ever fortunate if we are able to experience wholeheartedly such an emotion.

My world is within these infinite reality of separate cinematic worlds. From Amelie to Moulin Rouge, the inspiration and dreams live on. Were it that I had no other option, I would have still pursued all that I can be and all that I want my life to paint out. Perfection and expectation lives through us, but I find that such small moments and minor details of something great and amazing in your life, it can last and melt all the winter months of the year.

Letters to Juliet

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
Helen Keller

Bonjour all!

Once in awhile, there would be moments when I would be drawn back to fond memories- whether it be a beautiful rapture of events, the warmth of conversations passed between loved ones, or a film that unravels a never-ending spiral of emotions thought to be kept away deep within the heart, but rises up to break through that hard surface once it recognizes the ties that bind between life, and that cinematic feeling.

This story is one of them.

In Verona, Italy, there is a place which thousands have flocked to in prayer, in hope, in dreams, holding this aura of believing the one thing that beautifully haunts humanity since the dawn of time: love.

Verona is quite a significant place for Shakespearian enthusiasts- the setting of the most recognized love story of all love stories... the story of Romeo and Juliet.

I think the whole essence of undying love is something we hold tightly within our hearts, searching unwaveringly for our Prince, our Romeo against the huge tide of Impossibility that washes ashore. Once we find it, its like this sunken feeling, this electric essence within our veins that fires alight when you touch that person's hand, a sort of channel that sings "it was you all along".

In a way, I have felt that sort of love in my lifetime, but then again, being unattached at the moment- I'm still waiting for that Grand Love. And it is here that we go back to Verona, to Casa di Giulietta, a house which is said to be the Capulet's home where a bronze statue of Juliet stands within the small courtyard.

It's been said that if you touch the metal of its chest, the person would have good fortune. We then appear before a wall near the entrance, known as Juliet's wall.

Here we see hundreds upon hundreds of whispered letters, notes, marks of existence, seeking what the heart wants, hoping that Juliet may hear and grant us our answers. Better yet, it's believed that those leaving one's writing on this wall would make one's love everlasting.
Someday, I will travel to Verona, and leave an imprint behind on that wall...I think it would be so nice to be able to cherish this incredible monument where thousands would come to this destination... there's a deep unexplainable reason as to why we all value such immaculate spectacles- and maybe it's better left unexplained... sometimes we need to just close our eyes and let go of everything and just feel.
