The Disarm Suite

Bonjour all!
Here is an excerpt that I will put in my "Memories of an Evening"- a book which I am currently in the process of writing, and would like to share with you!

Disarm

When I hear the sound of the violin, my heart stretches and pulls along with the notes.

I draw further and further away from reality, where the hole of dreams and past lives open out, waiting for me to fall through.

Clouds of imagery and vivid recollections of cinematic moments seep through, where even my breathing becomes lighter and deeper as the music carries me past all forms of time.

Sometimes it’s as if it were a hand being laid upon me, its fingers sliding on my skin from the point of my chin, down the form of my neck, then tracing lines across my spine.

At times I needed to close my eyes, where a rush of tears would slip past my lashes, inhaling all the while.

The music can conjure up things past, things present, and things yet to happen, even when I did not want it to appear.

Like the bright of day dying as night wades to shore, I feel myself embracing what’s to come as the end of the suite approaches.

The ending is like the release of stars in the night sky, always there but becoming luminous within darkness, as if I were at a loss, but reborn again at the same time.

As the music sails past, there is an ever greater need to feel what we must feel, to reach deep and wide to sink through such wonder and be moved by its timeless grace.

I wish to feel what I cannot see and breathe life into it. Dreams appear and vanish like castles in the air, all the while glancing inwards at the glass of Infinite Possibilities.

It is here that I lie in reverie and it is within reverie that I may feel at home, no matter where I may be. To feel a stir within the caverns of my soul confirms the virtues of my existence.

Outer traces of problems would then fly away, its wings of despair beat softly as it approaches elimination.

I stand as a part of the world, but at the same time I am the world- a world where even purple skies may linger and white seas would call out to me, luring me away from hidden shadows that come to play.

Evening comes and brings a letter of condolence. I then submit to its spell, and fall into its embrace.
