The castle- well, it may not be a castle after all...

"All the works of man have their origin in creative fantasy. What right have we then to depreciate imagination. "
-Carl Jung

Bonjour all.
I've meant to put this up earlier, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was quite busy and was unable to update as I was meant to.

" A murder you say?"....
I was fortunate enough in being able to take out my time to go to Osgoode Hall to enjoy in the realm of good company, and to be able to have a nice luncheon with them as well. My french friend also came along with me to be awe-struck at the sheer excellence and marvel the building entails. In my opinion, Osgoode Hall is intertwined with history and law...as well as being a favourite building of mine.

The Great Library...and it suits up to its name, no doubt.
Truly Osgoode Hall has been the hub of legal life for 175 years and came to life by the good people of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

I picked on the interesting details surrounding this place, and one cannot pass by the windows without admiring the beautiful etchings within the glass.

A very charming and well-detailed fireplace. It's because of these fine details that brings out a richness to its overall structure.

Alas, I do have a soft spot for the Great Library.
To read and study there sometimes is just simply marvellous.
The serene quietness it seems to carry, one could feel the mere knowledge and great minds that have walked among here, and the scent of law books which has situated here for years.
On another note, the film "The Time Traveller's Wife", the library scene was shot here.

Pay noted attention to the ceilings as it was lavished in fine ornamentation of designs and details once more. It really attributes to its grand size and atmosphere of the library.

A backwards glance of the library.

As you approached further inwards, there stands a marvelous sculpture and below it stood these words.

We then entered among one of its many fine rooms Osgoode Hall has, alongside the ladies which I would call them the Garden Tea Ladies... for reasons that they look like they're going out to a garden tea party.

They were such charming ladies, that they were...if you look closely within the mirror, you can see my french friend, holding a glass of wine... or perhaps it was his shutters....

Of course, without further notice, I sat down on my rightful chair, and ordered the room to commence to order. From there we worked on the murder of Seraphina Pilota and the Rouge Box. In between there were scones and biscuits, so all in good time ;)

As it was heading towards lunch time, we arrived at the Osgoode Hall restaurant where it was situated in the atmosphere of that of a library...which I immensely approved its atmosphere...food and a lovely atmosphere...what's not to love.

The windows were all stained glass and along the shelves were volumes of law books dating as far back at 1879.

We came across a lounge area where it held a different vibe..almost in a more historic sense.

Again, I paid much attention of the details of each corner, and each corner held a certain grotesque-like sculpture... dragons, unicorns, etc.

The weather itself that day was absolutely gorgeous. A perfect day to solve the mysteries at Osgoode Hall.
The map of what Upper Canada used to be like. I hold a certain interest in old maps...for me its just holding a glimpse of what the world used to be like before us.

Here I come upon the second library I encountered that day. This one is known as the The American Room. My french friend liked this room very much, and I agree in the sense that for me, it brought on a certain Holmes-like quality to it.

Of course, the winding staircase added on further bouts of excitement...always wanted one of those within my own personal library in the near future.

And that's all for now, ciao!

  2. Hi how are you?

I was looking through your blog, and I found it interesting, and inspiring to me, so I thought why not leave you a comment.

I too have a blog that I use out of Southern California here in San Diego.

It is mostly a collection of artistic expression, and I have many friends with the same interests, maybe you can become my friend, and follow, and I can also follow you, if that is okay.

Well I hope to hear from you soon, and or read about you….LOL

    Sincerely,
    Jesse
